Eagle Scout Projects
St. Marks Evangelist Catholic Church Project
Brady Rabel of Troop 360 Eagle project was to install 165 foot long sidewalk from one parking lot connecting to another parking lot. This was done to keep people out of the asphalt driveway connecting the two parking lots. Giving separation between pedestrians and motor vehicle traffic passing so closely.
The Project is located at Saint Marks the evangelist Catholic Church on Thousand Oaks Rd. next to 281. Funding for his project was helped by family and friends, making donations.
A very large donation of 9 yards of concrete and the delivery of the concrete was donated by Vulcan materials of San Antonio. With the large contribution from Vulcan Materials, Brady Rabel was able to return $500 of seed money that Saint Marks Evangelist Catholic Church had gave him to get his project started and was returned to Monsignor Kevin Ryan, who was the pastor at the time the project was completed.
Many of the staff at Saint Marks Evangelist Church have commented to Brady that they have received comments saying that the sidewalk was long overdue and was glad that it was completed by an Eagle Scout earning his wings.
Claudia Taylor Johnson H.S. Band Program
An equipment cage was erected to secure uniforms and merchandise for the band program. Funding was provided by the CTJ Band Foundation.
Thousands Oak Elementary School
This chicken coop was part of a bigger project the school is working on that will encompass a garden and rabbit cage. The chicken coop was the first item installed in the enclosure and will be used to house 20 chickens and foster the learning of the elementary school kids on taking care of the animals as well as being able to collect eggs. Funding for this project was provided through NEISD via a grant.
